Born in May 5th 1988 in Tottenham, London-England to a single teenage mother. Her full name is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins is an English singer and song-writer. She was offered a recording contract from XL Recordings after her friend posted Adele's demos on Myspace in 2006. In 2007 she received the Brit Awards Critics' Choice and won the BBC Sound of 2008. Her debut album was released in 2008 entitled 19, was certified four times platinum in the UK.
Adele released her second album, 21 in 2011 and it has been certified 14 times platinum in the UK while in the US the album held the top position longer than any other album since 1998. Two first singles from this album, Rolling in the Deep and Someone Like You well-known worldwide. Adele has also received two Grammy awards, for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Adele began singing at age four, she has cited Spice Girls as a major influence in regard to her love and passion for music. At the age of 9, Adele and her mom relocated to Brighton, and then t the age of 11, Adele and her mother moved to Brixton. Her first recorded stuff, Hometown Glory written when she was 16. In December 2011, Adele announced that she will be taking a break before beginning work on her third album. Adele is scheduled to be featured on an upcoming album "Chimes of Freedom: Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International".
